I wanted a large carafe that kept coffee hot all day. I bought this model because it had the best heat retention numbers on the Zojirushi website,[...]I tested this carafe myself and it out performed the stated heat retention numbers. It really does keep liquids hot for a long time.Only 4 stars because what they don't tell you is that the "Brew Thru feature" doesn't allow you to completely close the carafe for transport. If it's full and it tips, there will be a spill. I might have been slightly better off with Zojirushi Premium Thermal 1.85 liter Carafe, Brushed Stainless Steel, [...], I'm not sure.Overall, very good product and just what they say it is.

Perfect! Fit a full 12 cup pot of coffee and kept it hot! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who entertains!

Any one looking for a hot drink carafe, this one is the best.The coffee or in my case "Tea" stays hot all day and holds more then most carafes.I would highly recommend the "Zojirushi 1.9L Thermal Carafe"Only drawback, this does not deliver to Canada, Yet!I bought mine while I was visiting in the US, shipping was very fast.A Great product!!
